The Desert Thunder age group swimmers got off to a great start
Friday at the 2010 Age Group State Championships at Mona Plummer
Aquatic Center.
Leading the way, Abhishek Rajadas set into breaking two of his
13-14 team records in the boys 100 fly and 100 back, posting times
of 1:02.70 and 1:06.13 respectively. Abhishek's swim garnered him a
silver and bronze to open his first day of competition.
Also returning to finals were Finnegan Lynch, 10th in the boys
100 backstroke, Sierra Bigelow, also 9th in the girls 11-12 100
backstroke, and Ellinore Duncan , with a big time drop in the
morning, swam to a 13th place in the girls 11-12 100 breaststroke.
The girls 12 and under 400 Free Relay put points on the board
dropping six seconds from their seed time, and the boys 13-14 400
Free Realy also placed top 16.
The morning saw terrific time drops from all the swimmers, very
notably from the 10 and under boys 100 backstrokes and 100
breaststrokes. Gabe Rangel had a strong morning throughout all his
performances.
